Special Events and Activities

Summer Program.  We offer an exciting summer program each year that covers almost the entire summer.  Families can choose just one week or all of them.  Each week offers a different theme.  And all the activities, snacks, and crafts are centered around that theme.  For a summer flier, click hereBe sure to check out our Summer Sale!

Field Trips, special guests, and class parties.  To supplement the curriculum, we take 3-4 field trips each year, and have special guests visit the preschool. We also have 4-5 class parties throughout the year, ranging from a Thanksgiving Celebration to a Valentine Pajama Party!

Show ‘n Share.  Show ‘n Share is a special time each Thursday and Friday, where students bring something to show 'n share with the rest of the class.  It is desired that the object be something that goes along with our monthly theme and weekly concepts we are teaching, but we will accept anything for the students to share.  It's such a great learning experience for them.

Parent-Teacher Conferences.  Our teachers do extensive evaluations of the students at the beginning of the school year and then prior to the conferences held each semester.

Performances.  Each semester, the students learn new songs during Music Time, then perform on stage in front of family and friends at the Thanksgiving Program, and again at the Spring Program. Students entering kindergarten the following school year also participate in a graduation ceremony during the Spring Program.  They are dressed in cloth graduation gowns, with caps and tassels.  They walk across the stage, while the Director announces their name and where they will be going to kindergarten. They are then handed a diploma. It's both a joyful and a tearful occasion!

Adventure Camp.  As we follow the Lincoln Public Schools elementary calendar, there are two weeks in the school year that LPS is not in attendance, usually Fall and Spring Break.  During those two weeks, Little Learners offers an optional week called "Adventure Camp".  Each week during Adventure Camp, the students explore a unique and exciting theme.  All the crafts, snacks, and activities are centered around that theme.  Siblings, up to 10 years old, are also invited to join in on the fun during this week at Little Learners!  Extended Care is still offered during Adventure Camp to accommodate our families' work schedules.  For information on our current Adventure Camp, click here.

Family Fun Night.  Throughout the year, we like to have several events that the whole family is invited to...and one of those is our Family Fun Night.  Hosted in February, our Family Fun Night consists of all our little ones (and big ones, too!) wearing their pj's and watching a movie on the big screen.  We invite the little ones to bring their sleeping bags and pillows and any fuzzy characters they want to snuggle with.  For food, we either have a pot-luck, or a favorite:  pizza!  It's a fun night that the whole family can enjoy together!
